Captured Moments: A Photography Show Set for April 24
The 30th Annual Photography Showcase will take place April 24 - May 20. A public reception and award ceremony will be held from 2-4 p.m. on April 24th at the W.G. Rhea Library. This event is free to the public
The photography competition is open to amateur and professional photographers. Photographers of all ages are encouraged to enter. Prizes will be awarded for each category: $50 for First Place, $25 for Second Place, $10 for Third Place, and $100 for Best of Show.
Participants can enter their work in any of the following categories:
Altered Images: Photos manipulated for artistic purposes by applying special effects
Architectural: Photos of buildings and similar structures that show accurate representation
Beginner: Photos taken by photographers with less than two years’ experience
Black and White: Photos of any subject taken in black and white
Downtown Paris: Photos of places, people and events in downtown Paris, Tennessee
Mobile: Photos taken with a mobile device (phone or tablet)
Natural World: Photos of plants, landscapes, geological features or weather phenomena
People: Portraits and photos of groups of people or individuals
Travel: Photos that document an area’s people or culture and convey a sense of place
Wildlife & Animals: Photos of animals, either in their natural habitat or in controlled conditions
Entries will be received at W. G. Rhea Public Library at 400 W. Washington St. Entry forms should be received by 5 p.m. on April 18. Each photographer may enter up to three (3) framed or gallery-wrapped photographs. There is no entry fee.
