The Paris-Henry County Arts Council has announced that the 32nd annual Photo Showcase will be named for Dr. Danny and Martha Jo Kimberlin.
The Kimberlins have long shown unwavering support for the arts. In recognition of their esteemed sponsorship, the Arts Council board has decided to name the event after the couple, honoring their remarkable legacy and profound impact on the Paris-Henry County community.
Danny Kimberlin’s journey to Henry County began in 1990 when he joined Henry County Medical Center as one of the county’s obstetricians. Leaving behind his previous practice in Hot Springs, Ark., Dr. Kimberlin was drawn to Henry County by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of his patients and the community as a whole. Over the course of his distinguished career, Kimberlin delivered more than 10,000 babies, forming deep and lasting bonds with countless families along the way.
Throughout his career, Kimberlin’s passion for travel and photography has been a source of inspiration and joy. His extensive travels to 108 countries, all seven continents, and all 50 states have provided him with a wealth of experiences and perspectives that he has generously shared through his photography. Kimberlin’s commitment to capturing the beauty and diversity of the world around him serves as a testament to his creative spirit and artistic vision.
Despite his demanding schedule as an obstetrician, Kimberlin always found time to support the arts and cultural initiatives in Paris and Henry County. His and his wife Martha Jo’s sponsorship of the Photo Showcase since its inception has been instrumental in the event’s success and growth through the years. The show started with approximately 40 entries and in the last several years has reached 160 entries.
Their unwavering dedication to the arts community has enriched the lives of countless individuals and has helped foster a vibrant creative culture in the region.
As Dr. Kimberlin continues to inspire and enrich the Paris-Henry County community, the Arts Council is proud to honor him and Martha Jo at this year's Photo Showcase, scheduled for May 5-22 at Rhea Public Library.
The Kimberlins’ enduring legacy and steadfast support of the arts will continue to inspire future generations of artists and art enthusiasts in Paris, Henry County and beyond.
The showcase will feature a diverse selection of photographs from local and regional artists, celebrating the power of photography to capture the beauty and essence of the world around us. The showcase is open to the public, and all are invited to attend and celebrate the Kimberlins’ contributions to the community.
