Unveiling creative horizons in Paris-Henry County

Dear art enthusiasts,

We are thrilled to bring you the latest edition of Artyfacts, your monthly dose of creativity and cultural exploration. Organized by the Paris-Henry County Arts Council, these events promise to immerse our community in the diverse tapestry of arts and self-discovery.

Some of the council’s events are:

•  Eugene Gulish Writing Competition: A Literary Journey of Self-Discovery. Mark your calendars for Feb. 16, the last day of this year’s Eugene Gulish Writing Competition, which kicks off our year full of events.

Writers from Paris, Henry County and beyond are invited to submit their stories exploring the theme “A Journey of Self-Discovery.” Winners will be announced on Feb. 23, celebrating the richness of literary talent in our community.

•  Artist Showcase: Celebrating Local Artistry. From April 7-24, immerse yourself in the vibrant world of local artists. The Artist Showcase will unveil a plethora of artistic expressions, providing a visual feast that reflects the diverse talents flourishing in our midst.

•  Photography Showcase: Capturing Moments, Creating Memories. Embark on a visual journey from May 5-22, as the Photography Showcase unfolds. Witness the power of images to convey stories, evoke emotions and capture the essence of our community’s unique perspectives.

•  Farm to Table: A Culinary Celebration. In June (date TBD), join us for an exquisite culinary experience with Farm to Table. Delight in locally sourced, fresh ingredients, and savor the flavors that define our region. This event is a celebration of community, culture, and the artistry of food.

•  ARTS Round the Square: An Extravaganza of Creative Expression. On Sept. 28, be prepared to be immersed in the ARTS. This grand event will showcase the culmination of creative endeavors throughout the year, featuring performances, exhibits, and interactive experiences that underscore the rich artistic tapestry of our community.
